I know a lot of us just got together and watched this one so i’ll keep my thoughts brief, but every time i come back and watch it again i find it more impressive. I think Speed Racer basically accomplished everything it set out to do: being probably one of the only truthful live-action homages to early anime, presenting a radically unique child-like aesthetic that no one will touch for years to come and a successfully told story that blends its kinetic style into its own anti-capitalist narrative. this movie just fucking rocks man. rick picked a good one. i think in my ongoing list of rick re-watches LOTR is next up. love you eric💙

couldn't have put my personal thoughts into words any better,, amazing n earnest movie dedicated 2 telling it's story in its own style in a way that makes n keeps it absolutely timeless... an eric classic in all the best ways

had 2 do this one,, especially today,, what an underrated masterpiece,, just so fun and awesome and that climax racing scene is just top tier... would do anything to see this one again with everybody,, even just to relive us all watching it together
