REALTIME REPLIES... yep u heard that right, on certain threads namely the live event thread u will be able to see people respond to u in real time! no need to refresh the page! for now its on an as needed basis just because it's rly stressful on the websockets of this server but it is stable and working... any thread that has this functionality will be clearly marked with a notice at the top.
. speaking of realtime... LIVESTREAM SUPPORT!... u can link ur twitch or youtube live and people can watch inside the website! this was mainly implemented to organize watch parties with everyone in tandem with the realtime replies but feel free to make a thread with ur livestream attached!
. added a dark mode! (thank u grady for the inspo) navigate to the bottom left of the site and u should see a paintbrush icon and something that says CSCN Light, if u click it u will have the option to switch between light and dark mode! I made the dark mode myself so sorry if its a bit rough
(hopefully will add a toggle soon but i kinda like the old school selection style idk)
. MUSIC AND TV THREADS UPGRADED!... very similar to the movie thread u can put a musicdb or tmdb link respectively and get a full post with album/show artwork and more! the musicdb im not entirely satisfied with as its missing a lot of stuff but hopefully this will improve... also made some cosmetic upgrades to all 3 forums where any text u put in the text box will be put in a separate reply under the post instead of directly in the wall of text

. WE HAVE CREDITS/CURRENCY!!! WE"RE ALL RICH!... there is now a credit system implemented in the website! u can earn them by posting, replying and a lot of other things but i'll let u guys find that out by urselves. ideally i will implement some sort of shop and gambling system soon but for now the credits was really just the hard part... i think the rest i can finish before i go 2 CA... the credits are 100% free and are earned just by being active. i've set up a lot of triggers 2 earn credits that are rly cool and hopefully will add more, so play around with it!
. (SHITTY) SPOTIFY INTEGRATION!... if u go 2 the top right and click on ur profile and then click on "connected accounts" in the settings u should be able to link ur spotify account! the only thing it does so far is if someone clicks on ur icon while ur listening 2 spotify it will show them what ur listening 2... its honestly p cute and i dont plan on fleshing it out any further bc dealing with spotify's authentication is rly difficult... its just cool n its own thing
. MOODS... YES LIKE FROM VICTORIOUS... i found an xml archive of 242 different moods with graphics and they are fucking amazing, to change ur mood click on ur profile in the top right and in the drop down under ur name u should see a blue link that says "moods". thats it, j click one and its on! it will show up on ur profile and in ur posts as a banner under ur name (similar to the "staff member" banner that some people have) have fun with all of them! and HUGE ty to the original graphic designer that is probably 40 years old w kids now.... also yes i know theres a hitler one i almost died laughing when i saw it... hate the guy but fuck no im not removing it LOL

. reputation system... not based on reactions or likes just based on how much u post... kinda like a forum leveling system possibly with cool visual rewards... ideally will have some sort of badge or trophy system now that credits are in play and i've developed this idea a bit more
. WAYY more profile customization... ideally going to integrate something like tumblr where ur profile is basically ur own webpage... u can changee the font, visual style, backround, website, post links 2 ur own shit etc. etc. this will kinda be a huge undertaking but i want to finish this before i leave for CA this week hopefully... if not, expect this by beginning of December (experimented with being able to upload music on ur profile so it would play when ppl landed on it...... maybe most unsuccessful endeavor of the all nighter LOL... working on it i promise)
. expanding the credits system... fake gambling on real life events (sports, oscars, general shit)... with the livestreaming capabilities and the no refresh replies i should be able to host really engaging watch parties it should be fun once all the components come together... other than the custom webpages this may be what im excited about the most
- ideally some sort of purchaseable reward w these points... maybe special emojis or username styles? idk...or adminstrator privileges for a fixed amount of time 0_0.... who knows
. fixing the "latest poster" display attached to each forum... i have it working correctly in the what's new section (big icon for original poster, small icon for latest reply) but its j not working on the frontpage... working on it (i have slightly given up on this... lol)
. fixing/upgrading the chatbox on the front page... although awesome it uses a rly shit protocol to send and recieve messages and oftentimes messages arent seen without refreshing or messages dont appear as sent after hitting send... this one shouldn't be 2 hard so expect a much better chatbox that still maintains the charm of the old one... except much more responsive lol
. custom profile URL's, hopefully as infrastructure for the webpage update but basically instead of ur profile being some weird combo of /'s and numbers it would be forumthatneverwas.com/[whatever u want here]
. calendar... self explanatory... just wanna have dates and times for organized events
. anonymous posting, just seems fun although maybe it encourages dumbass behaviors or spammers i feel like it would spice things up... especially if in more open threads posting a reply wouldnt require an initial registration... j dont be weird n it should be cool

this was such an awesome update and im so excited to keep working on this tmw (well today techincally... its 7:30 am and i woke up at 10 am yesterday... have not slept at all lol) expect the next couple updates to be absolutely massive... yes even bigger than this one... enjoy the site guys im so glad ppl are having fun and coming out of their shells... thinking of maybe running a featured post of the day or a funny tweet march madness or something... idk im j happy w the direction this is going and i hope u guys are as well...
