it has been 2 years since the last update and i can make a ton of excuses but it was largely because of moving, negligence and focus on another peoject (the hogblog) but now that development on that has slowed considerably I can actually work on this site again, this site is my baby and i love it so much, so no, this site will never die... it will hibernate, but never die! this update is p huge for all my #gamblers out here and im really excited 4 everyone 2 enjoy with the upcoming NBA season

THE SPORTSBOOK HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REMODELED.... i was limited really badly by php so i figured would make an entirely new subdomain in typescript using next.js with all the new fancy functionalities that it offers and holy shit i am impressed... maybe more modern features soon if this is the case because holy shit but REAL ODDS,, REAL GAMES,, REAL TIMES ON TIME,, FAKE MONEY (obv)
. BETS IMPROVED AND GAMES AUTOMATICALLY PULLED AND RESOLVED FROM THE-ODDS-API. thats right no more waiting for me to manually put them in and resolve them when you win, it should now do that automatically as well as just have a much more fluid and normal interface for managing your bets
. PARLAYYYYYYYYYYYYS the most requested feature i have ever had maybe on this site now work, multiply odds correctly, and are very awesome, not much to explain here parlays are awesome and theres a dedicated parlay builder (thank you draft kings i stole so much LOL)
. PROP/PLAYER SPECIFIC BETS not much to explain here, bet over under on specific players and add them to your parlays
. RANKINGS AND ACHIEVEMENTS (had to game-ify it somehow lol)... rankings and achievements based on bets made and (technically) profit,, currently its dependent on balance because im stupid and cant figure out how to link the profit correctly... eh i'll figure it out by the time the season starts... i hope lol
. TRASH TALK COLUMN just a lil mini comment section on each game... kinda pointless, i kinda want it to start a new thread on the main forum per game if someone comments on it but it gets a lil tricky having the 2 pages talk to each other because of different capabilities between them
. COMMUNITY BETS/1v1 CHALLENGES when someone makes a bet its shared in the community bets tab and you have the option to send them a challenge, it would be betting the exact opposite on their specific bet and matching their bet amount, the winner gets the winnings obviously and the joy of beating someone in a 1v1 lolol (people do have to accept the challenge)
. LIVE SCORES ON GAMES YOU HAVE BET ON because api's can update as frequently or infrequently as i want them to i can update scores depending on games people have bet on, justa. cool way to check scores instead of googling idkkkkk i thought it was cool
. MORE TO FIND theres a lot of small cool stuff to hunt down in that new sportsbook i'll let some of the small stuff be a surprise but yeah, ENJOY THE OFFICIAL 4TNW SPORTSBOOK

. ACTUALLY make a survivor type game for sports teams (everyone chooses a team for the week and whoever's team wins the most games gets to be in the hall of fame)
. video FILE integration... videos from URL's werent 2 hard but now i need 2 implement ppl being able to post their own videos from their phones or from their computer... kinda like a community youtube (or even as an attachment in a forum post) (this is till being worked on, this was the last project before big hiatus)
. featured post of the day/funny video tournament.... the latter is more organization than any technical task
. many many more smilies/emojis.... u guys rly seem 2 love those n theyre rly easy 2 find xml files 4
. cleaning up interfaces... making sure theres a bit less jank all around

i honestly think most of the update is pretty contained in the sportsbook so if you are not a sports fan sorry :/ BUT i will have that site specific version of youtube rolled out and hopefully finished pretty soon so there will be a really cool way to share and post your own videos on the site.... also i think i j gotta rally the troops in general, get people back on the website posting about nothing and just having fun and talking to each other
in terms of general updates uhhhhh join the hogblog if you havent, free cable, streaming and PC games and its just awesome and has been my passion project for the last year and a half just about, i put a lot of blood sweat and tears in that and although its always a bit stressful,, the idea that i can actually help people even in a small way like entertainment makes it all so worth it... idk not gonna wax poetic or blow smoke up my own ass but zooming out and j coming back 2 this project and seeing what ive done with my time im proud of what ive done i think,, i just want people to have fun for free with no strings or obligations attached,, no ads,, no data collection,, just fun,, thats this whole site, thats the hog,, thats all of it... i hope i can think of more ways to do that
anyway thats all... new updates are gonna be a LOT more frequent i think... i just miss this website and seemingly other people do,, so lets make it dope together lol
